Delaware Stars for Early Success reviews early childhood education programs every three years. This is the second consecutive Star Level Five Rating recognition for all NCCHS centers.
The goal of Delaware Stars is to invest in participating programs to increase access to high quality care for all of Delaware’s children, especially those from low-income families. Delaware Stars is funded by the Delaware Department of Education and administered and managed by the Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood (DIEEC) in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Delaware.
In addition, six NCCHS classrooms were recognized as “CLASStastic” for receiving nearly perfect CLASS scores at the NCCHS Annual Luncheon on May 25, 2017. The Office of Head Start (OHS) uses the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) tool to measure and monitor classroom quality. The average NCCHS CLASS scores are at or above the highest 10% scores for all national Head Start grantees. See below pictures of "CLASStastic" award recipients
